Very heavy and continuous downpour expected for Perak, Pahang, Selangor and KL today
The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a red alert following dangerous levels of continuous downpour for various districts across Perak, Pahang, Selangor and Kuala Lumpur today.
In a statement published at 1.40am (Dec 19), MetMalaysia said for Selangor, very heavy rains and continuous downpour is expected to hit Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Hulu Selangor, Klang, Gombak, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Hulu Langat.
In Pahang, areas under the red alert are Tanah Tinggi Cameron, Lipis, Raub, Jerantut, Bentong and Kuantan.
Eight areas on red alert in Perak are Manjung, Kinta, Perak Tengah, Kampar, Bagan Datuk, Hilar Perak, Batang Padang and Muslim.
All areas in Kuala Lumpur are expected to experience very heavy rain and continuous downpour.
States and districts issued with an orange alert - heavy continuous downpour, was expected to occur in Penang, Kedah (Kuala Muda, Kulim and Bandar Baharu), Perak (Kerian, Larut, Matang Dan Selama and Kuala Kangsar), Kelantan (Gua Musang), Pahang (Temerloh, Maran and Pekan), Sepang in Selangor, Putrajaya and Negeri Sembilan (Jelebu).
A yellow alert - continuous rain, was issued for Perlis, Kedah (Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Pokok Sena, Pandang Terap, Yan, Pendang, Sik and Baling), Perak (Hulu Perak), Kelantan (Tumpat, Pasir Mas, Kota Bharu, Jeli, Tanah Merah, Bachok, Machang, Pasir Puteh and Kuala Krai), Terengganu, Pahang (Bera and Rompin), Negeri Sembilan (Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah, Rembau, Jempol and Tampin), Melaka, Johor (Tangkak, Segamat, Muar and Batu Pahat).
